The Beatles Love By Cirque Du Soleil Performs Opening Act To Honor Sir Paul McCartney At The 2012 MusiCares Person Of The Year Gala

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11, 2012 -- Cast members from The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil performed live last night at the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year gala at the Los Angeles Convention Center. All 60 dancers and acrobats from LOVE performed to a specially edited track by Producer Giles Martin, featuring songs from the two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning LOVE album.

Iconic artist and philanthropist Paul McCartney was honored as the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year at this special event celebrating his exceptional artistic achievements as well as his philanthropic work. The sold-out tribute to McCartney benefits MusiCares' emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery programs. Proceeds from the annual Person of the Year tribute — now in its 22nd year — provide essential support for MusiCares, which ensures that members of the music community have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need.

Additional performances included multi-GRAMMY® winning artists and current GRAMMY nominees Tony Bennett, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, and Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas; GRAMMY winning artist Duane Eddy; multi-GRAMMY winning artists Norah Jones, Alicia Keys and James Taylor; two-time GRAMMY winning artists Diana Krall and Neil Young with Crazy Horse; two-time Latin GRAMMY winning artist Sergio Mendes; and current GRAMMY nominee Katy Perry. The evening also featured a special performance by 14-time GRAMMY winning artist and 2012 MusiCares® Person of the Year Paul McCartney.

LOVE, a Cirque du Soleil creation and co-production with Apple Corps Ltd., celebrates the musical legacy of The Beatles and is presented exclusively at The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. This joint artistic venture marks the first time that The Beatles company, Apple Corps Ltd., has agreed to a major theatrical partnership. The project was born out of a personal friendship and mutual admiration between the late George Harrison and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte.

Since its June 2006 premiere, LOVE has performed over 2,000 shows for more than 4.3 million people. Recently named "Best Show in Las Vegas" by USA Today, LOVE has been voted "Best Show in Las Vegas" by the Las Vegas Review-Journal for four consecutive years and continues to be a celebrity favorite. In February 2011, The Beatles' GRAMMY Award-winning LOVE album and 'All Together Now' documentary made their digital debuts, exclusively on iTunes.

Roberta Flack's Single "We Can Work It Out" Debuts On 2 Radio Charts

NEW ALBUM "LET IT BE ROBERTA: ROBERTA FLACK SINGS THE BEATLES" AVAILABLE FEBRUARY 7TH

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 30, 2012  -- Roberta Flack the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist is back after an eight year absence with a brand new album, "LET IT BE ROBERTA: ROBERTA FLACK SINGS THE BEATLES"—a collection of Beatles song interpretations. The first single "We Can Work It Out" made a spectacular debut on two different radio charts this past week garnering #1 Most Added at Mainstream AC Chart and #2 Most Added at Urban AC. In addition, the single moved into the Top 20 at Smooth AC radio. Buzz continues to build as key press such as NPR, Billboard, Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, AARP and More Magazine are already confirmed. Newly signed to a partnership of 429 Records, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Flack's RAS Records, the album which was produced by Sherrod Barnes, who has also produced Beyonce' and Angie Stone, with contributing producers Jerry Barnes and Barry Miles, is slated for release on February 7th worldwide (Sony Music will release the album in Japan).

Roberta Flack has long been known as an unparalleled musician who effortlessly inhabits the worlds of pop, soul, R&B, jazz and folk. From her very first recording, "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" which hit #1 in the U.S across all charts, Flack has created strong emotional bonds with her listeners through her poignant musicality and unerring stylizations while also shining an uncompromising light onto the culture and politics of the times.

Since bursting onto the scene in 1969 with the blockbuster album "First Take" (produced by the legendary Joel Dorn), she's followed her fiercely uncompromising lyrical and musical muses earning her a place alongside pioneering artists such as Aretha Franklin, Elton John, and Nina Simone. A multiple Grammy winner, she is the only artist along with U2 to win "Record of the Year" in consecutive years (for "The First Time, Ever I Saw Your Face" and "Killing Me Softly"). Although she's taken some time between recordings, she's never stopped performing having constantly toured worldwide. Flack, a national treasure gives her time freely to a host of charitable and humanitarian causes--among them, the ASPCA (spokesperson of the year for 2011) and the Roberta Flack School of Music in Bronx, NY (which she founded in 2006).
