Colombian-born Actress Loren Escandon Hits Hollywood Hard with Her Role in ‘The Messengers’ on the CW
Los Angeles, CA (April 3rd, 2015) – Hailing from Colombia, award-winning actress Loren Escandon (www.LorenEscandon.com) is part of the highly anticipated supernatural-drama series ‘The Messengers’, created by Eoghan O'Donnell (‘Teen Wolf’) and produced by Joe Incaprera (‘American Horror Story’), Stewart Lyons (‘Breaking Bad’) and Matt Pitt (‘Revolution’), set to air April 17th, 2015, on The CW Network.
The Colombian beauty, which after 12 years living in New York recently made the permanent move to Los Angeles, plays the spirited Gabriela who is married to Cesar Garcia, played by Bernardo Saracino (‘Sicario’) and is the sister-in-law in love with the shows leading man, Raul Garcia played by JD Pardo (‘Revolution’).
“I had a wonderful time working on this show and loved playing my character Gabriela. She is such a spirited, down to earth person yet has so many complexities about her.” said Loren on her ‘The Messengers’ role. “I also really enjoyed working with everyone on set – all the Producers and Directors have been fantastic, and I am extremely proud to be a part of this show. I’m very excited for everyone to tune in and see it!"
Loren spent the majority of her acting career to date performing on stage to a live audience. In 2011 Loren wrote and starred in the award-winning off Broadway play ‘Montera’, a fearless one women show about the oldest profession throughout history and the most dehumanized profession in contemporary times. The play, which in 2013 toured Russia, Spain and Cuba, and in 2014 toured New York, soon relished in rave reviews and rapidly became a theatregoer’s favorite. During the shows run in New York, Loren picked up two prestigious awards, the HOLA Award and ACE Award both for ‘Best Actress in a Solo Show’.
When not acting Loren lends her time to different non-profit organizations and is particularly passionate about animal welfare. She can often be seen hiking the Hollywood Hills with her two shelter rescued Chihuahuas, Lincoln and Taft, both named after the great U.S Presidents.
See Loren Escandon on The CW’s ‘The Messengers’ across the USA from April 17th, 2015.

THE 'BEWITCHED CONTINUUM' OFFERS A CAULDRON OF FUN ABOUT BELOVED SIXTIES SITCOM
Author Provides Expertise and Insight to New Release in Time For Series' 50th Anniversary
"Do witches fly on brooms?"
"Can one witch undo another witch's spell?"
"Do witches have power over one another?"
Answers to these questions are revealed in The Bewitched Continuum: The Ultimate Linear Guide To The Classic TV Series, a fun, entertaining book by Adam-Michael James that looks at all the details, discrepancies, magic, and spells from one of television's most popular series of the '60s.
"Bewitched" aired eight seasons on ABC from 1964-72, for a total of 254 episodes. The series revolves around Darrin Stephens, an advertising executive, who marries a beautiful woman, Samantha, only to discover she is a witch with magic powers. He makes her promise him that she will live like a mortal, without using witchcraft and spells in their lives, but her best efforts are thwarted by the constant interference of magical relatives in their lives. "Bewitched" starred Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha, Dick York and later Dick Sargent as Darrin, and Agnes Moorehead as Samantha's mother.
"When I was eight years old, I fell in love for the first time," says author James, explaining his life-long fascination with "Bewitched." "I sat in front of the television and saw a blonde lady wave her hand and make a strange gesture with her nose. Suddenly, a bucket of water appeared over a man who had been bothering her, and, by the time the bucket emptied itself on him, I was hooked."
In The Bewitched Continuum, James focuses on the continuity of the supernatural sitcom by comparing and contrasting episodes with each other and exploring consistencies and inconsistencies in individual installments, including special effects, bloopers, and differences in show details. In addition, he provides fun statistics such as the number of times Endora calls Darrin "Durwood," a tally of witch illnesses and mortal maladies, and detailed profiles of major characters.
Enhancing the rich compendium of "Bewitched" material, the author offers his personal selection for the top 10 best and worst episodes, and provides his own final episode for the series, which never had a proper finale due to an abrupt cancellation. And, finally, for any witches-in-the making, James compiles a comprehensive look at the show's spells, who cast each spell and why.
"What better way to delve into the magic of the series than during the celebration of its golden milestone?" adds author James. "And let's face it - supernatural is hot right now. In many ways, 'Bewitched' paved the way for the fairy tale, vampire, and fantasy series viewers are watching now."
This Thursday, James' interview on The "IN" Show will be broadcast from 1-2pm PST / 4-5pm EST at http://www.theINshow.com/ListenOnline.html . Be sure to tune IN to hear Adam-Michael James discuss the magic of writing The Bewitched Continuum!
The Bewitched Continuum also includes an insightful foreword by author/producer Herbie J Pilato, a leading expert in classic TV and pop culture whose latest book, Glamour, Gidgets, and the Girl Next Door , has just been released.
An expert in continuity, James has a long history in the entertainment industry including writing script coverage for major production companies and writing continuity scripts for radio. His literary output includes the book and lyrics for the musical drama "The Nine Lives of L.M. Montgomery," "Extra Extra: Memoirs from a Piece of Human Furniture," a humorous how-to tome on being a Hollywood extra, and the novel "Undo the Deed," a time-travel story that was influenced by "Bewitched." Currently, he is a columnist at soapcentral.com where he writes extensively about the soap opera, "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Why I Love Los Angeles - Volume 1
Trevor Sewell Reflects
"The last twelve months have been a hectic but incredibly enjoyable ride for me. Ever since debuting my album 'Independence' on The IN Show with Gus Summers on the day of its release ( 21st November 2013); and, later the same day picking up the 'Best Blues Award' in the Hollywood Music In Media Awards at the Fonda Theatre, there has been a real sense of progression!"
The Trevor Sewell Band played a string of dates and festivals in the U.K in early 2014, and then went on to pick up 'Best Blues' in the 'Artists And Music' Awards in Los Angeles in February.
In April it was then back to Hollywood where they were once again elated to take the 'Best Blues Performance' in the Indie Music Channel Awards for the song 'The Train.'
While in Hollywood, Sewell also began recording for his next electric album at the iconic Capitol Records! As if this wasn't enough, Sewell also recorded a new unplugged album LIVE at Capitol entitled "Face To Face" which is set to be released on CD this week.
"'Face to Face' was actually a completely spontaneous album - there was no plan to record an unplugged album of any sort. It was just that the engineers in Capitol are so great that when I heard the sound that he [one of the engineers] had managed to get on my acoustic, I just said 'Hey, Joe, (sounds like a cue for a song) while I’m sitting here can I make a Live Acoustic Album?' He just smiled and said, 'Yep. Let's go for it.' There was no plan, no set list, no discussion. We just agreed that there would also be no overdubs; and, that this would just be a completely stripped back raw performance. I just wanted to see how the songs sounded with just a guitar and a voice."
The "Face To Face" Album was completed in less than 3 hours and features a mix of songs from Sewell's previous two albums and also some new songs not available anywhere else. No plans were made to release these songs; in fact, for the rest of the duration at Capital, time was spent recording material for the new electric album.
It was only when "Fact To Face" was played it to a few people in the UK who said it was an album that needed to be released, did Sewell consider doing so. When he did, it went straight onto the highly prestigious IBBA playlist in the UK!
"The plan for the new electric album was originally to release it in November, but owing to the continuing success of the 'Independence' album, the release had to be rescheduled to next year."
Another visit to L.A is already on the cards and is currently scheduled for either February or March 2015. There are already some really interesting possibilities for collaborations in the air with some great American Musicians and Artists!
ADDITIONAL, EXCITING NEWS
- The entire Independence album being licensed for inclusion in a huge Blues Collection to be released soon that includes a plethora of well known artists. “I was really excited when this possibility was first discussed and was amazed to find out that the entire album was to be included in the multi-volume set which includes many of my heroes! B.B King, Taste, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, Howlin Wolf and the list just goes on. It was a huge Buzz when I saw the tracklist.
- Five Sewell songs from a completely different project have also just been recorded in studios in France and Nashville by Brooke Nickerson for Gotham Records. One of the songs being a cover of 'Take These Chains' from Sewells' "Independence" album! “I love what Brooke and her band have done with the songs and am looking forward to the release - It's completely different to my own version and I love when I hear an artist do something different with my songs."
Just some of the reasons Trevor Sewell loves Los Angeles. Be sure to check back for a Volume 2 from Trevor real soon!
