Local Communities Come Together to Aid a Young Mother's Fight Against Brain Cancer with Just4Jen Fundraiser

Communities across the Chicagoland area, Indiana and Arizona join together to help a young mother realize her greatest resolution, to overcome cancer

Just4Jen Fundraiser to be held on February 2 at BlackFinn in Naperville

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Jan. 10, 2012  -- While most people are thinking of their resolutions for the new year, Jenny Crowley Searle is resolving to win her five-year battle with brain cancer. Now communities across the Chicagoland area, Indiana and Arizona are joining together to help this young mother realize this resolution together with a Just4Jen Fundraiser on Feb. 2 in Naperville, Ill., where Jenny spent her childhood.

Jenny was first diagnosed with an oligodendroglioma stage II brain tumor in 2007. After years of treatments and brain surgery, Jenny recently found out that the brain cancer is growing and now inoperable. There were months of diligent coast-to-coast travel to top medical centers, to figure out her best option for care; ultimately, Jenny chose a renowned team of doctors at UCLA, where she now commutes from Arizona every eight weeks for chemotherapy management and MRIs. According to the American Brain Tumor Association, for every 100,000 people in the United States, approximately 209 are living following the diagnosis of a brain tumor.

Jenny, a 37-year old mother of three young sons, has openly shared her tumultuous yet spiritual journey with friends and family and others who are either living with a brain tumor or affected by it through her blog, http://goawaybraincancer.com/, where she inspires with her stories of strength, heartache and perseverance.

And now loved ones from all stages of her life are channeling Jenny's determination and will, to help her win this costly fight. Family, friends and classmates from St. Raphael grade school in Naperville, Ill., Benet Academy in Lisle, Ill., Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., and her current hometown of Phoenix, Ariz. are coming together for a fundraiser, Just4Jen, on Thursday, Feb. 2 at BlackFinn in Naperville. Raising funds will help pay for her travel expenses incurred in 2011 and her future travel expenses to/from Arizona and UCLA every eight weeks.
